Alcohol awareness training

OVERVIEW

This training will enable staff to deliver alcohol awareness training to students and explore how to run a successful alcohol awareness interventions. As recommended by the recent UUK report into student initiations, the training will also cover educating students about the risks of consuming alcohol in large quantities and guidance on caring for those who are drunk. 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

After completing the training, attendees will:

  • Be confident in how to deliver alcohol awareness training to students
  • Understand how to run alcohol awareness interventions
  • Be equipped to educate students about the risks of consuming alcohol in large quantities and how to care for those who are intoxicated

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This training is appropriate for students' union and university staff.

 

WHAT SOS-UK PROGRAMMES DOES THE TRAINING SUPPORT?

This training can support the delivery of Alcohol Impact and Drink Rethink.

 

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR DELIVERY?

This training is available as:

  • bespoke delivery for individual institutions / students' unions
  • a centrally-run training event available to attendees from any institution

This training is delivered in person.

The centrally-run training lasts for 3 hours.
