Give Up Your Paper Cup

In September 2017 the guild introduced 25p tax at university outlets if a disposable cups was used, whereas in the Guilds outlets, a 25p discount is given if a reusable cup is used.

University branded keepcups are available to purchase across the campus, with 1,370 being sold to date. This initiative is being led by a student group, who have been awarded funding to give away a further 1000 university branded reusable cups. The student group has also been awarded extra funding to implement a specialist cup recycling scheme.

As this is a student led project, students are engaged throughout the year to encourage them to give up their paper cups. Each month the group provides free tea and coffee in the university forum to anyone who has a reusable cups.
