Thursday 04-07-2019 - 15:24

Students for Trees is a student-led campaign supported by NUS and The Woodland Trust to engage young people, colleges, students' unions and univerisities with woods and trees. Students for Trees are looking for 15 young people to join the student council and lead this national environmental campaign.

2018-19 Student council members

The Student Council will consist of 15 members of 16-25 year olds who will be in charge of running the Student for Trees project. You will help to organise events across the UK, create a social media presence for the project, enthuse other students to care and learn more about nature as well as celebrate National Tree Week. You will help to decide which student projects we should fund, apply for your own funding to run events on campus and help contribute to the wider Tree Charter network of 80 organisations.

This is an exciting opportunity to really shape a student-led project and we would love students from all courses to apply, whether you are studying art or zoo management, you will be able to gain a range of skills and knowledge by being part of the board.

We would like applications from people who are enthusiastic about social media or are always on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. We would like someone to create blogs, vlogs, and short films whilst supporting a national project with other like-minded students. You'll be able to attend events across the country and organise your own whilst gaining some fantastic experiences to add to your CV.
