We are running a Kickstarter placement scheme, with our friends at Change Agents UK for sustainability teams in the tertiary education sector.
Taking part in the scheme is our way of helping young people at a time of few opportunities, providing extra resource for the sector at a time of need, and helping to tackle the environmental movement’s longstanding diversity problem.
Kickstarter is the Government’s new scheme to help unemployed young people find meaningful work, and they pay for six-month placements for unemployed young people. Details are all on www.changeagents.org.uk/kickstart-education.
The Government Kickstart Scheme will fund hundreds of thousands of high quality 6 month work placements for young people deemed to be at risk of long term unemployment. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to support the creation of meaningful work placements that could be transformative for young people - and will help organisations to increase diversity and bring fresh ideas in these challenging times. Change Agents UK and SOS-UK, along with additional partners including the EAUC, have worked with the tertiary education sector for many years and bring their combined experience to this scheme to create opportunities for young people to learn about and support sustainability in the sector. Kickstart roles in Higher and Further Education could include work supporting student and staff engagement programmes, communications and social media work or helping engaged students with campaigns and initiatives.
If you would like one or more Kickstarter through our partnership, please complete the form on www.changeagents.org.uk/kickstart-education by 07 October 2020. If you have any questions please get in touch with hello@sos-uk.org.
