OVERVIEW
A theory of change is a useful tool that can help organisations define what they want projects and campaigns to achieve and how these achievements will be realised. Once developed, a theory of change can also provide a useful framework for measuring and evaluating impact.
A theory of change can be developed at multiple stages in the project/campaign cycle - undertaking the process at the beginning can aid with the planning process. Alternatively, applying the process to describe an existing piece of work can help with evaluation and communications. It can be particularly helpful for complex initiatives – although it can also be used for more straightforward projects or campaigns.
In this interactive workshop, delegates will be introduced to the concept of a theory of change as well as experiencing a widely used model used across the charity sector to describe and communicate theories of change.
